003.jpgWhat a great tournament! Thanks to everyone involved with the tournament and to all the teams that made it down to the FIMC. It was a great way to start the ball rolling, so to speak, and a lot has been achieved, which should see the sport going from strength to strength in the UAE in the future.

Many thanks must go out to both Le Meridien Al Aqah and Fujairah International Marine Club. The facilities provided were second to none and the extra help provided by both, to ensure the continuous smooth transition of everyone fishing the tournament, was brilliant! 002.jpg

A big congratulations must go out to Luke Chang from team Sho Cho Boto, who claimed first prize in the individual competition. His catch of a 17.7kg King Fish saw him pick up the first prize of US$5000! Second place went to the next heaviest fish outside of the winning fish species, an 8.5kg Dorado, caught by Anders Oldenburg, a member of team De Jager (who flew all the way from Finland)!

The best skipper prize went to Raed Dabbous also from team Sho Cho Boto, who also picked up the all important invite to the IGFA Offshore World Championships in Cabo San Lucas in May 2010! Congratulations chaps and we wish you tight lines and plenty marlin released during the tournament.

We would also like to thank all of our sponsors for helping to make this event a reality. Be sure to check out the sponsors page for more details on how you can support those that support the tournament!

Stay tuned to this website for updates on the 2010 tournament. We hope to see you all at the event next year! Tight lines Everyone!
